1. Who we are

The Living Classroom (the "Service") is operated by Adams and Adams Consulting Company LLC ("we", "us", "our"). We act as the data controller for personal data collected through the Service. You can reach us at the contact details listed on our home page or via the support channel inside your parent dashboard.

2. Categories of personal data we collect

  • Account data — parent email address, hashed password, display name.
  • Child profile data — first name or nickname, age tier selected by the parent. We do not collect last names or contact details for children.
  • Learning activity — lessons completed, mission progress, chore logs, badges earned.
  • Uploaded content — photos parents or children optionally upload to the Living Farm journal.
  • Support communications — messages you send us.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, basic usage telemetry for security and reliability.

Payment card details are collected directly by our payment processor (Paddle) and are never seen or stored by us.

3. How we use personal data

  • Create and manage your family account (legal basis: performance of contract).
  • Deliver curriculum, track child progress, and personalize age-tier content (contract).
  • Process subscriptions, invoices, and refunds via Paddle (contract / legal obligation).
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents (legitimate interest).
  • Improve the Service through aggregated, non-identifying usage analytics (legitimate interest).
  • Send service announcements and, with your consent, occasional product updates (consent).

4. Who we share data with

  • Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record. Paddle processes all payments, handles billing-related support, calculates and remits taxes, and processes refunds.
  • Supabase — hosted database, authentication, and file storage provider.
  • Lovable — application hosting and infrastructure.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting professionals where strictly necessary.
  • Government authorities — when required by valid legal process.

We do not sell personal data.

5. Data retention

We retain account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain limited records (for example, transaction records for tax purposes for up to 7 years).

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and your children;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Delete your account and associated data ("right to erasure");
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Export your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us from the email address associated with your account.

7. Children's data

The Service is designed for use by parents on behalf of their children. Parents create and control all child profiles. We rely on the parent's authority and consent for any processing of child data. Parents may review, update, or delete their children's data at any time from the parent dashboard.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and routine security review. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Personal data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your selected child, and maintain your session. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we add analytics cookies in the future, we will update this notice and request consent where required.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
